Focus SB to debut Renaissance at Decorex

We’ve launched Renaissance, a design-first patent pending flat screwless plate with distinctive square corners which will make its event debut at Decorex. 

With quality and sustainability at the heart of our innovative new product, the modern Renaissance flat plate is a chic evolution of classic design. Crafted with precision from the highest specification recycled (and recyclable) solid brass, the stylish and symmetrical Renaissance plate is manufactured using more raw material than similar options on the luxury market. Human artistry complemented by custom CNC and Cobot technology has resulted in a striking product with deliberately unbranded socket inserts and a lack of visible screws for a minimalist design aesthetic. 

Available in bespoke sizes, with precisely machined switch and socket apertures, the Renaissance product range offers a finishes palette that comprises Ochre, Sienna, Roma and Umber. A fifth finish named Canvas offers architects and interior designers primed and bespoke colour coated solutions for design story continuity.

Notably during manufacture, blank plates are reverse pressed for sharper edges which are hand polished for consistent high quality, a signature touch unique to Focus SB. Durability of final finish is further enhanced by a degreasing process to remove contaminants, and sprayed in-house with matt lacquer to retain lustre.

“When I set our in-house technical design team the Renaissance brief in 2021, I knew it would be challenging because what I wanted didn’t exist!” says Gary Stevens, Managing Director, Focus SB. “The concept was to design a true flat screwless plate with square corners, rather than a formed, or dished plate, or one that sits inside a frame in two pieces, or sits on a visible plastic frame, like the majority of available products on the market. 

“I also wanted the ability to create bespoke sizes because that will be a prerequisite for most high end residential or hospitality projects. The team set about designing and trialling various solutions, taking inspiration from traditional and modern architecture, and the result is Renaissance, the rebirth of a classic design. A product like no other on the luxury market today – a true work of art.” 

Available for architects and interior designers to specify for hospitality interiors projects in Hong Kong, the Middle East and the UK, Renaissance faceplates are manufactured, finished, tested, assembled and packaged in-house across our three production sites in East Sussex, UK prior to despatch. 

Focus SB will showcase Renaissance for the first time at Decorex 2023 on stand A74.
