Living
Bronze finishes and unlacquered brass are commonly referred to as ‘living finishes’ due to the nature of the chemical process and the continuing reaction of the finish to the natural environment and general handling in the normal course of use.
This means that the finish will change over time giving that authentic ‘ageing’ effect and individual character to the plate.
Whilst we can protect products with various lacquers, a living finish is sometimes specified where the product is allowed to develop a patina over time to match other hardware such as door furniture.
Matching new plates to a 'living finish' previously supplied will not be exact, with no two plates the same.
Our unique in-house finishing capabilities enable you to create your own finishes based on our standard collection, offering an unrivalled design and finish solution. Discover our bespoke services for design consultants.
