Hastings Apprenticeship Roadshow

On Tuesday 25th June, our HR & Customer Care Manager, Mrs Jo Cloute attended the Hastings Apprenticeship Roadshow event at the White Rock Theatre in Hastings together with our recently qualified Health & Safety Technician, Molly, and apprentice CAD Technician, George, sharing their valuable insights, advice and experience with visitors considering roles in manufacturing.
The event hosted by the Sussex Council of Training Providers in partnership with the East Sussex Careers Hub and East Sussex County Council had a great turnout, bringing together local residents, employers, and training providers and offered up-to-date information on apprenticeships, from pre-employment to higher and degree apprenticeships.
There were three separate areas at the event. A central exhibition space, a panel discussion, and
a ‘next steps’ support area. Mrs Jo Cloute was invited to be a part of the expert panel discussion, to highlight how apprenticeships add value from the employer's point of view, and answer questions from the public. As a volunteer Enterprise Adviser, Mrs Cloute’s community outreach provides invaluable support to local educators.
The ‘next steps’ support areas were available for further support, provided by the Youth Employability Service, National Careers Service and ASK. Careers Advisers were given access to computers to support participants access job vacancies and company websites. Exhibitors were able to use the area to speak with participants on a one-to-one basis. Participants included a mix of young people and adults, all eager to explore apprenticeship and career options.
The next free Apprenticeship Roadshow will be held in Eastbourne on Thursday, July 11th, at the Welcome Building from 4.30 to 6.30pm.
