Bespoke electrical accessories are specified for The Newman hotel

Our expert design, manufacturing and projects management team are delighted Focus SB’s electrical accessories are specified for London’s newest hotel, The Newman on Newman Street in Fitzrovia.
Three years in the making, this is a unique flagship project from international hospitality management company Kinsfolk & Co.
The Newman appointed London-based Pernille Lind and Richy Almond of Lind + Almond, known for designing spaces with an understated worldly eclecticism, to lead on the design of the 81-bedroom hotel.
“We chose to partner with Lind + Almond because they truly understood our values and design vision for The Newman. Fitzrovia, often overlooked in London, is a unique blend of residential and commercial spaces, with many hidden stories and ultimately, an area holding eccentricity behind its more discreet façade. From our very first meeting, we were impressed by the way Pernille and Richy delved into the area's history, unearthing gems that have since become integral to The Newman’s design narrative,” commented Paul Brackley, Founder & CEO of Kinsfolk & Co.
Guest rooms and suites are calm and curated. Tones are muted – deep hues of burnt red and green, with timber and rich wood tones, freshened with polishes of stainless steel to give an Art Deco, contemporary feel. Bespoke Ambassador Square electrical accessories were specified to complement eclectic interior details and included Unlacquered Polished Brass and Chocolate Bronze finishes.
Bespoke Focus SB products included 4-gang and 5-gang round button low-voltage keypad switches with laser marking, vertical plates with a shaver socket and volume control (bathrooms) and striking multi-service combination plates in Chocolate Bronze with 1-gang 13A switched socket, 1x USB charger Type A&C, 1x 6G round button low-voltage keypad switches with contrasting Unlacquered Polished Brass buttons.
The understated colour palette and materials of The Newman’s interiors link back to Fitzrovia’s unfussy touches. A standout feature, the Penthouse Suite features a private terrace with sweeping views over the city skyline and streets of Fitzrovia below.
“The signature, entry-level room has turned out beautifully” added Almond. “Here, sweeping curves represent the pen strokes of the illustrators who have frequented the district’s drinking holes over the decades”.
Named one of GQ’s ‘Most Stylish Hotels on the Planet for 2026’, The Newman opened on February 1st 2026 in Fitzrovia. Recently featured by multiple design publications and The Times, Wallpaper* includes an image of one of our bespoke products specified for the interiors of The Newman’s luxurious Penthouse suite.
British hospitality brand Kinsfolk & Co, whose founder, CEO Paul Brackley was recently recognised in the Hotel Designs The Brit List Awards 2025 winning the Outstanding Contribution to the Hospitality Industry award.
