Forklift licences achievement
Congratulations to trainee press setter Allan Barratt and warehouse supply chain apprentice Alfie Williams who have both gained their forklift licences.
Allan, who joined us five years ago began his career with us in the finishing department until the opportunity arose to train as a press setter and work alongside his son Liam, who passed his forklift training successfully in 2022.
Alfie’s traineeship in warehouse and supply chain has led on to an apprenticeship at Focus SB and this latest achievement is part of his ongoing training.
An advocate for apprenticeships and ongoing staff training opportunities, our very own Managing Director Gary Stevens began his career as a technical apprentice, leaving school at 16 when he was offered the choice of around 11 apprenticeships. He recalls his first day during an interview on our blog post ‘Spotlight on Apprenticeships’. Mr Stevens has never forgotten his apprenticeship roots nor lost his passion for British manufacturing and nurturing young talent into the industry, overseeing the introduction of a successful apprenticeship scheme into the company.
