Focus SB signs up for Disability Confident scheme
Focus SB announces it has signed up to the disability confident scheme. Equal opportunity is at the heart of the company’s core values, and the longevity of service by many of its employees is testament to this.
An environmentally responsible member of the local community, and a regular supporter of local charities; Focus SB actively encourages learning, creativity and employee loyalty in the workplace. Nurturing a family spirit amongst its employees, the company embraces this latest stepping stone in its mission to grow and develop a fully inclusive workforce, as it continues to expand its Hastings-based manufacturing operation.
Focus SB also plans to continue with its drive to attract apprentices into the company fold with MD Gary Stevens recently becoming an Enterprise Adviser for an official network offering careers strategy support to schools and colleges by linking them with a senior business volunteer.
Managing director, Gary Stevens comments: “As someone who came through the ranks as a technical apprentice, I am keen to provide opportunities for young people to join us on our exciting journey and to grow with the company, which is why I have agreed to become an Enterprise Adviser in East Sussex. I am also keen to encourage applicants from all corners of the community with all levels of ability and mobility to contribute to our growth and development as well as theirs which is why we have signed up to the Disability Confident Scheme”.
The company’s exciting plans for 2018 are only set to be enhanced by this latest move, as it looks forward to developing new trading opportunities within China, implementing further investment in production facilities and processes, and welcoming additional employees over the course of the new year.
