Our MD Gary Stevens is interviewed by interior designer Sheron Ravi, creative founder of Wellness Interiors, who has launched a new podcast called Healthy Homes, Healthy Planet for anyone wishing to pursue a sustainable lifestyle.

In an episode entitled Environmentally Friendly Electricals: Innovating for a Greener Future live on Spotify on December 31st 2023, Sheron’s interview with Gary explores investment pieces such as our new RENAISSANCE product, a low profile screwless plate with square corners made from solid brass, and our latest sustainable manufacturing processes plus the trial of a four day working week to reduce our carbon footprint.

A design-first product with a 25 year warranty, Renaissance was three years in design and development, but ‘many years prior to that at concept, blue-sky thinking and market research stages. We spoke to a lot of our customers, particularly designers and installers and discovered that aside from the aesthetics, recyclability was important to them. The challenge for our designers was that the concept of a true flat screwless electrical accessory didn’t exist. The brief was to make a true flat plate, that sits completely flush with the wall, with no visible fixing screws or plastic frame, and to make the product as sustainably as humanly possible, including the methods of manufacture, materials used, recyclability of those materials and packaging.
