CBBC, DIT holds evening reception as part of 2019 CIIE

On 6th November, as part of the business activities for the China International Import Expo (CIIE), the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) hosted an evening reception at Shanghai’s Hotel Indigo on the Bund, belonging to CBBC’s member, IHG group. Overlooking the breathtaking Shanghai skyline and Huangpu River, over 150 guests attended the event to network with CBBC’s distinguished members and partners, as well as the British Consulate-General Shanghai and the UK’s Department for International Trade (DIT).
Tom Duke, Minister Counsellor, British Embassy Beijing, and Deputy Consul-General Shanghai, Tony Clemson opened the event and welcomed guests, who then heard from Ros Lynch, Copyright and IP Enforcement Director of the UK Intellectual Property Rights Office, who made a keynote speech on IP rights in China.
During the event, Focus SB, Savills UK, University of Central Lancashire and Sisters Grimm announced their respective partnerships with Chinese companies, before Kiran Patel, Senior Director, CBBC shared his reflections on the CIIE, context on activities that he had attended and meetings that he’d had with provincial government around opportunities for our members. Afterwards, guests were invited to celebrate, enjoy food and drink, and network amongst each other.
