The Future of Manufacturing: The Route to Industry 4.0 event
Our Head of Strategic Partnerships, Duncan Ray was delighted to speak at a first-ever manufacturing event ‘The Future of Manufacturing: The Route to Industry 4.0’ held on March 21st at the East Sussex College & OHM Energy Green Training Hub, organised and sponsored by Switchplane and supported by Eastbourne Chamber of Commerce.
Mr Ray presented Focus SB’s journey in implementing robotics and automation during a morning of learning and discussion about the future of manufacturing in Sussex and beyond. Other speakers included Jim Davison, Region Director at Make UK, who spoke about the challenges and opportunities in UK manufacturing, Tom Fielder, CTO of Switchplane who spoke about the use of AI in manufacturing and Paul Vine, Director of renewable energy company OHM Energy Solutions.
The event championed British manufacturing and the ambition to create growth locally, with talks followed by a panel discussion, chaired by Paul Hetherington, Business East Sussex Chair & former CEO of Marshall Tufflex.
