Paintable/primed
Quality primed metal switched, unswitched and blank faceplates, as well as custom back boxes for wall surface mount in heritage property installations, are supplied ready for a top coat of paint to be applied on site, enabling designers to create a perfect match or a striking contrast to wallcoverings.
Paintable light switch and socket outlet faceplates are supplied with a white primer coating designed to be lightly ‘keyed’ and painted on site before final fitting. The primed surface needs to be ‘keyed’ to allow the paint to adhere, for this we would recommend 800 grit paper.
We use an electrophoretic coating (electropainting) as a primer, suitable for applying a top coat of most types of common paint in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. However, we would recommend an acrylic based paint as the finish will only be as durable as the type of paint used. Please note that some paint manufacturers may recommend their own brand of primer or undercoat is used.
Paintable/primed finish is available for Ambassador, Horizon, Renaissance and True Edge faceplate styles. The Morpheus semi-raised screwless faceplate or any bespoke wall plate manufactured by us can also be supplied in a primed finish by special order.
We recommend partnering paintable power socket outlets with clear acrylic Prism light switch faceplates for discreet or decorative wallcovering solutions.
