Top six interiors trends Autumn/Winter 2017
100% Design display showcases Focus SB switches, which can be matched to our plate finishes.

As the dust settles on another inspirational 100% Design we'd like to share our top six favourite interior design trends this Autumn to inspire your mood boards.

Working closely with interior designers, architects and architectural technologists, we understand it's important for us to keep abreast of trends in fabrics, materials, colours and finishes. This enables us to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to advising on the right sockets and switches, and assist specifiers to achieve continuity of finish throughout a modern or heritage interiors project.

Wall jewellery for Autumn

Decorate with traditionally-autumnal welcoming warm and muddy tones, such as Pantone®'s Otter (18-1018), set to complement the fading pastel pinks of Summer; and introduce gorgeous colours echoing harvest crops of grains, squash and fruits. Our brushed brass metallic finishes will subtly complement these tones, or if you want your luxury 'wall jewellery' to stand out, opt for a shinier, polished finish from our standard and bespoke finish options.

Industrial chic

This season's industrial and salvage look has softened, evolving into a chic style this Autumn. Accessorise your kitchen or living space with metal sockets and switches to complement worktops or match ironmongery and furnishings, finished in a matt black, Bronze Antique, or Satin Nickel.

Contemporary and heritage interiors can be enhanced by handmade craftsmanship. Earlier in the year, our blog post Analogue Workshop Interiors Trend identified a 'Digital Detox' trend for Spring/Summer 2017, which was predicted to be strong across many sectors in the world of interiors including residential, hospitality, workplace and education. This functional and well engineered trend with a nod to sustainability is reflected in the desire for quality products made to last.

Jewel tones and pattern

Beautiful jewel tones introduce a regal elegance this Autumn/Winter, with luxurious velvet furnishings; opulent marble and concrete finishes featuring metallic detailing; geometrics, and large boldly patterned or floral wallpaper designs. If you need to install un-interruptive sockets and switches, our Prism clear plates from our Discreet range offer the perfect solution.

Formal blues

Embrace winter blues and decorate with muted stylish elegance in 'Drawing Room Blue' from British paint manufacturer Farrow & Ball. 'Stiffkey Blue', also from Farrow & Ball, remains hugely popular in kitchen design, following 2016's hot trend for 'Elephant's Breath'. For those of you who prefer to blend your sockets with your wall coverings, our Discreet products include a Paintable range with in-house spray finished colour coated and primed options. We also offer bespoke colour matching, engraving and screen printing services. Shades of teal continue to be remain popular as they did last year, offsetting warm Autumn tans and ochres and metallic interior accessory accents well into the season.

Heavy metal

Expect metallics to grow in popularity for the interior this Autumn, as showcased by fashion designers on catwalks this summer who rocked a heavy gold and silver trend. Switch-plate finishes are still seeing popularity for bronzes since last year, suiting both industrial, hotel and heritage interiors. We've seen growing interest in gold and brass detailing throughout interiors, as well as chrome and stainless steel finishes specified for interior decor and furnishing schemes.
