HAL’S THE ONE THAT I WANT
One electrical contractor was so impressed with Focus SB’s home automated lighting system (HAL) that he installed it in his own home and now uses it as a showroom.
Lee Bullen, Managing Director of LJB Contracts, Rickmansworth, has been sourcing his lighting control plates and electrical accessories from Adrian Storr at AT&T, Brentford, for about 10 years. He was shown the HAL system and was instantly impressed: “I was very keen to know more when I first saw it, so much so I have since installed 11 control plates in my house.”
The system Lee installed mainly comprises HAL 4-600 packs with a mix of Horizon control plates that are all finished in satin stainless steel. Lee continues: “My house is 95 percent complete and I could not be happier with the HAL system. Now when my teenage daughter goes out or to bed, she can press one button and lights in the whole house turn off – its going to save me a fortune!”
Not only is there the support from Ross Thornhill, the expert on all things HAL at Focus should Lee need it, but he has also been on a programming course at the factory where HAL is manufactured. “The course was incredibly helpful, I can now set all the scenes and configure the system to my exact requirements either manually or by laptop.”
Lee is so happy with the HAL system, he has turned his house into a showroom and has been showing potential clients around. “On the back of giving customers a guided tour of the house and the lighting system, we have had a number of orders being placed. I think it has the potential to be very popular, it makes lighting your home much easier and more creative.”
Focus SB’s Home Automated Lighting System (HAL) was introduced at the beginning of 2009 in response to demand for an easy to use, simple to install and fully integrated lighting control device.
“HAL’s modular design enables it to be expanded from a simple switching and dimming operation, to a control system that can operate all lighting circuits within a building,” says Managing Director of Focus SB, Roger Kemp. “The system can also be operated and programmed using the infrared handset, allowing four or more scene buttons to set lighting ‘moods’.”
HAL technology can be used with most of the decorative plates from Focus SB’s extensive range.
