Focus SB puts the spark back into the Scottish market
Electrical accessories manufacturer Focus SB has appointed a new agent for Scotland following a significant rise in interest for its products north of the border.
Angus Cartwright, Director of Cartwright Lighting Associates, used to run an electrical wholesaler until he sold it six years ago. He made a move into lighting consultancy and then started his own business, as he explains: “We operate throughout Scotland and I am regularly speaking to architects and consultant engineers specifying lighting controls and accessories,” he says. “I see accessories and lighting plates as a key element of a lighting solution and Focus SB manufactures some of the best plates on the market.”
Focus SB is one of the few UK companies to make metal and clear acrylic thermoplastic plates used to control multi-room sound and entertainment systems, lighting and heating, and can manufacture any quantity without long lead times, as Angus continues:
“It was this complete bespoke service that led to discussions with Focus SB and our new working partnership. I will be specifying its range for all projects in the future and I am delighted to be working with its products and designers.”

Focus SB exhibiting at The Sleep Event
(Stand V7) Focus SB will be showcasing its entire range of electrical accessories at The Sleep Event exhibition, which is being held at the Business Design Centre in Islington on November 23rd and 24th.
Of particular interest to those visiting the specialist hotel event will be the bedroom multi-service plates and card switches that Focus SB is able to manufacture in any quantity to customers specific requirements.
Also on the stand will be its New Sheraton, New Lincoln and Deckle Edge ranges.
All plates are manufactured to the highest standards at the Hastings manufacturing headquarters using either Crabtree or Wandsworth inserts. Roger explains: “These ranges offer a comprehensive selection of products to suit most application requirements.”
Also on the Focus SB stand will be its best selling Ambassador range, which has been designed to suit both traditional and contemporary interiors. It can be produced as standard with rounded corners, or with optional square corners. “To ensure design uniformity throughout a project,” he says: “Focus SB can utilise the grid fix inserts from this range to produce non-standard accessories to fulfil customer requirements.”
